Magnetron Council

Jessica Heasley

Administration

I have been coming to Con of the North since 2017. I got involved in planning it and then became a Magnetron in 2019. As Admin, I’m the Mag Council’s backup with a goal of keeping the big picture in mind. My wish is to create a fun, welcoming, and inclusive convention for everyone. I’m a big fan of relaxed, co-operative, deck-building, and engine-building games. Some of my favorites are Patchwork, Sagrada, Paperback, and Splendor. My dice collection is definitely smaller than everyone else’s, but I’m working on that!

Finance

I have been a Magnetron since the mid 90’s. I have filled many roles for the convention but I have been doing finance for many years now. Currently my favorite games to play are any roleplaying systems, but D&D, Wingspan, and Roll for the Galaxy have been at the top of my list. I could never pick just one favorite die. I have collected so many dice over the years and I love giving dice away to new players so they can start their own collections.

Marketing

I have been coming to Con of the North since 2019 and have been wall-to-wall running games since 2020 (except for playing a couple of niche RPGs like Fiasco, Monster of the Week, Cryptomancer, Troika, and InSpectres). In 2025 I opted to volunteer as the Marketing magnetron when I saw a spot open and am glad to be part of team. I tend to play crunchier games either in the form of engine builders or spatial games. If I had to pick a favorite, it’s between Fantastic Factories and Castles of Burgandy. On the topic of dice, I definitely have too many, but I could always use more double shot d6s.

Operations

I have been attending Con of the North since 2000, volunteering since 2001. I was an unofficial Publications "Peep" for a few years assisting with editing the Events Book. 2010 I became a Pubs Co-Head, 2012-2016 I took over as the primary head of Publications, then Pubs/Marking head again from 2018-2020. As of Oct 2021 I came back to work with Vendors, and for 2025 I wanted to take on Operations. Picking a favorite game is hard, but I prefer party style board/card games like Sagrada, Truck Off, and King of Tokyo! And I am a dice goblin.

Programming

I have been attending Con of the North since 2010, volunteering since 2015 and I have been the Programming Magnetron since 2022. I have many favorite games so it’s hard to pick only one. I love cooperative board games, puzzle/mystery style games. If I HAD to pick, I would choose games like Mysterium, Haiclue, or Betrayal of House on the Hill.

Technology

I have been attending the con since 2009, volunteering since 2013 and I have been a Magnetron since 2015. I have an unhealthy obsession with Kickstarter and wanting to try new games, but more than that, I like introducing people to their new favorite games! I’ve recently taken to 3D printing and am making all the things!

Scott Price

Vendors

I began attending Con of the North in 2014. Since that time, I’ve gradually gotten more involved, by running games and volunteering. I am brand new to being a Magnetron, but I am excited to help out more at the con. One of my favorite things about the con is that I can try all sorts of different games.  I like to play role playing games, miniature games and board games, and Con of the North is an inclusive and family friendly place to play them.
